You are in charge of River Run, a little town in a river valley. Help it grow, keep everyone fed, and keep folks happy.
GoalGrow your town and keep it going. Build homes, farms, jobs, and helpful places like a school and a clinic. If people go hungry for too long, River Run falls.
BuildPick a tab at the bottom: Zone, Utilities, Civic, Farm, Shops, or Industry. Tap a button to pick it up, then tap the map to set it down. Remove clears a spot. The undo button at the top takes back your last move.
Look aroundDrag the map to move. Pinch or use your mouse wheel to zoom, or use the + and - buttons in the bottom left. The 1:1 button sets the zoom back to normal.
Roads and zonesRoads connect everything. Residential is for homes, Commercial is for shops, and Industrial is for work. Power and water travel along roads from a power plant and a water tower.
FoodOpen the Farm tab, pick a crop or animal, then tap the land to plant it. As more people move in, plant more so there is food for everyone.
Special spotsDocks go on the riverbank. Bridges go on the river. Hunting cabins go next to forest or hills. Mine shafts go on the mountain. You cannot build on open water.
NewcomersFamilies arrive by road hoping to settle. Welcome them if you have homes ready, or turn them away until you are ready. The game waits while you decide.
WeatherStorms and snowmelt give a few days of warning before the river floods. Fires, earthquakes, and big floods can surprise you. A fire station and a clinic help the town bounce back. After trouble, rebuild.
Top bar and menuThe top bar shows the date, people, money, happiness, and approval. Tap the menu button to pause or change speed, set taxes, see tips for happier folks, check your budget, campaign, hold a county fair in the fall, and save or load.
ElectionsBuild a town hall so elections can happen. Every 4 years the town votes. Keep people happy to stay mayor.
Tips: Build roads first. Plant farms early. Keep a few spare homes and a fire station ready before trouble hits. If people get grumpy, try lower taxes.
