About Snack Quests

Snack Quests is a mom and son game development studio. We make small, ad-free games for families: the kind you can hand over on a car ride or in a waiting room and feel good about.

How it all started

C Always Light Landia was one of our very first games, and it's the reason Snack Quests exists. My son loved a popular block-building game, but I didn't love the spiders or the darkness. So we decided to build our own world, one I'd be happy to see him play. He loved it, and we've kept going ever since.

How we make our games

We work hard to make a lot of our own assets. I've worked in graphic design for years, including freelance design and illustration, so many of the characters, title screens, and finishing touches come from my own hands. We also use AI throughout, for help with code and for some of our art, and we buy assets from other artists. We want to be completely honest about our process. Most of our games are a mix of all three, shaped by our own ideas and a lot of playtesting at the kitchen table.

Learning as we go

My son is learning right alongside the games. Through our process he's learning how AI works and how to use it well, and he's learning to code too. Right now he's studying HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a little Python. That helps with quick fixes today, and it's building toward creating his own games from scratch someday.

Inside Outside, our golden retriever game, is a great example. The idea was completely his, and he chose every bit of the art. It's his creation. AI helped with the code, but he decided what went where and when, and he learned a lot along the way. We're figuring a lot of this out as we go, and we're having a great time doing it.

Our promise

No pop-up ads. No hidden trackers. No surprise purchases. Just quick, wholesome games, made by a real family, being honest about how we make them and having fun along the way.
